HTC Hero Launch Delayed?    [ 14-07-2009 18:44 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Phone Arena & Engadget     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Bad news for HTC Hero fans today as it emerged that the launch of the much anticipated handset may be delayed. Phone Arena are mentioning a release date of 21st July based upon comments made on cleverkit.com whilst Engadget are quoting Amazon as saying the release date will be on 24th July. Either way it isn't good news for those who were looking forward to a release tomorrow. Of course it may be that the release will go ahead as planned tomorrow on Orange UK, but that retailers offering the handset only will have to wait a week or two to begin selling the device. The HTC Hero is the third Android powered handset to go on sale and will be much anticipated as a result.

It seems that every company worth its alt has an iPhone app these days and the Financial Times is no exception. The pink broadsheet has announced the launch of its very own iPhone app, which will allow FT readers to get thir fix atraight to their OS 3.0 iPhone. The app will be free, at least at first, and will be supported through advertising revenue. The app features expected items like market data, but also a handy currency converter too. Speaking about the app, Steven Pinches, lead product manager at FT.com, said "We've listened to our users who asked for access to their portfolio, easy to use markets data with interactive charts, and quick access to FT articles. Combining the FT.com access model with a great platform for our premium advertisers means we will instantly see a financial return on the investment."
