Now, the first 9MP unit is available – all that’s left to do is for a phone manufacturer to implement it into a handset. Developed by Digital Imaging Systems, it’s capable of shooting still images at a maximum resolution of 3488 x 2616. It also sports ultra-fast autofocus, and a mechanical shutter. Nokia is looking into advertising, on its S60-based handsets. In short, an application will be pre-installed in the handset, called connection page, which will add, remove, and add new adverts, when necessary.
Then, applications that support the adverts communicate with the connection page application, for advertisements of relevance. For instance, say you are browsing the Web, and you are viewing a page about a part for a car – like an engine, it’d be possible you’d get an advert, that would tell you about a specialist car accessory shop, located near to you.
