Nokia have announced their cheapest phone to date, target at emerging markets. The 1202, which packs in the most basic of specs, will retail for €25, before taxes and subsidies. Although the specs, as expected, are very basic, you do get a spacious keypad, long battery life, and dust resistant screen.. Tech specs are as follows:

  • Connectivity: Dual Band GSM
  • Display: Monochrome, 96 x 68 pixels
  • Phonebook: room for 200 entries
  • Extras: flashlight, polyphonic ringtones, FM Radio and built-in Games
  • Dimensions: 105.3 x 45 x 13.1 mm
  • Weight: 78 grams

Nokia has announced a low end XpressMusic handset, target at emerging markets. It has to be said, for the price of €90, this handset is pretty decent value for money, and, you wouldn't really think it's aimed at the emerging markets, going by the spec sheet. It's set to begin shipping, sometime in the first quarter of next year. Spec sheet goes as follows:

  • Connectivity: Quad-band GSM
  • Display: 2.0", QVGA resolution, shows up to 262,144 colours
  • Camera: 2 MP
  • Memory: 1 GB Micro SD card in box, expandable up to 8 GB 
  • Extras: Bluetooth and Micro USB 2.0 connectivity, FM Radio, with RDS, 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • Battery: 970 mAh
  • Dimensions: 107.5 x 46.7 x 14.8 mm
  • Weight: 88 grams
