At an event in Singapore LG has shared some details on the launch of its recent communicator. It will debut end of 2008 – beginning of 2009. Company’s spokesmen mentioned that the device would be powered by an upgraded Windows Mobile version, supposedly 6.1. Unfortunately, LG hasn’t unveiled other details on the specs.
As for the press conference in Singapore, it was devoted to the domestic release of LF KS20 communicator. I’d remind you that the device is currently available in Hong Kong and Europe. Later this week it will come out in Taiwan and then come to other Asian markets.

Today Nokia introduced an update of its multimedia handset N82. It deals with a new color – black in addition to silver.
I’d remind you that Nokia N82 incorporates a 5-megapixel camera with xenon flash and Carl Zeiss lens, A-GPS navigation and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless modules. In addition you can retrieve location details and see them on the map from the photos taken with Nokia N82.
The vendor expects to ship the updated model in a couple of weeks to come at the recommended €400.
You are welcome to learn more about Nokia N82 from the review posted on our site.

Apple has filed a patent application for making iPhone in a clamshell form factor. It deals with a smaller mobile device (compared to the current iPhone) with the same interface, but with a translucent flip. It is something like Motorola MING flip, but with touch-sensitive control. When device is closed, transparent touch-sensitive panel covers the whole display area and you use the iPhone by means of the main interface. Once you open the flip, you have a normal phone display and another side of the trackpad becomes multi-touch-active.
According to the patent description, this approach can be applied to notebooks. The notebook cover will have an additional touchpad active as a touch panel, when the device is closed. It provides Vista Sideshow-like opportunities: e-mail and media content access.
It’s not yet clear whether we’d see soon the iPhone-clamshell and MacBook Air enhanced with Apple’s recent technology. The process might take quite a time, while the translucent touchscreen technology is reaching the required level: it involves ultra slim sensors, which look transparent. Well, this is an idea of a real iPhone clamshell/flip handset:
