Thin non-Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson    [ 02-07-2008 23:44 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Engadgetmobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The Walkman-line of handsets have seen some thin candybars - such as the W880 and W890, and it looks like Sony Ericsson will release a non-Walkman thin candybar handset. By the known specs - 3.2MP camera, HSDPA, in a thin frame - 10mm or thereabouts, it looks to be a non-Walkman version of the W890. Although, the keys now look more sober - the thin fingernail-like keys of the W890 are not present, and the top half of the handset is black, whereas the bottom half is silver, much like the company's popular T610 handset, pictured next to the phone - known as "Remi" below.

Of couse, up to this point, users could use the United States version for their country, but obviously, no that the aforementioned eight countries have their on individual version, searching ill obviously be much faster. See the image below for the Web address to download the application for your country.

Second profit warning for Sony Ericsson    [ 02-07-2008 16:32 ]

Author: Serge Novikov     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

After posting poor Q4 profits earlier this year, it seems there's more trouble ahead for Sony Ericsson, as they issued their second profit warning this year, putting the blame on enced by the second profit warning of 2008 that was issued last week. SE is pinpointing the blame of unlikey seeing profits rise for the second qurter on "disappointing European sales of its mid- and high-end mobile phones". With the recently announced C905 8MP cameraphone, and forthcoming XPERIA X1, these two should hope to give the maker good results for the third quarter, but there's still the mid-end range to tackle too.
