Late in November 2007 the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved HTC CLIO200, which wasn’t officially introduced then. It was unclear whether it was a UMPC or a communicator at that time. Now we‘ve got the info it is the very UMPC HTC Shift with two versions – CLIO100 for GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA and CLIO200 for CDMA/EVDO.

The market share of Symbian handsets for Japans’ NTT DoCoMo grew from 50% to 65% year-on-year (according to Techno Systems Research, for the end of first half 2007). Currently subscribers in Japan can choose among 69 Symbian-powered phones made by 6 members of Symbian consortium: Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Motorola, Sharp and Sony Ericsson.
