Nokia N97 widget competition announced    [ 22-12-2008 14:22 ]

Nokia have announced a competition where you can design a homescreen widget, for their upcoming N97 handset, which is set to launch sometime in the first half of next year. To create the widget for the homescreen, Nokia have provided a design package, for download. Once finished, you can upload your widget, where others can give their thoughts on it.


The ten highest rated widgets will go to a panel of judges, selected by Nokia’s N-Series team. The best widget of the ten, will be chosen on creativity, usability and quality of design. The winner of the best widget will see theirs in an N97 which they will receive, ahead of the public release.

Currently, there is no software-based solution to unlock iPhone 3G’s, so they can be used on any network. That is, until now. iPhone dev team member MuscleNerd has shown off a solution. Named YellowsnOw, it’s the first ever software-based solution which allows users with a jailbroken iPhone 3G to use their handset on any network. Nokia’s N79 gets first firmware update    [ 22-12-2008 10:39 ]

Nokia’s N79 handset has received its first firmware update, from version 10.046 to version 11.049. You can update to the latest firmware, either by using Nokia’s Software Updater, on your PC, or over the air, via the handset itself.
