The Digitimes with the reference to reliable sources reported that the Taiwan-based maker of navigation devices Mio Technology expects to expand its portfolio in the first half 2008. The new Mio communicators will be based in the 3.5G-shipset by Qualcomm and support photo navigation, TMC (online traffic info) and LBS (subscriber location), says the source. Besides another navigator maker Garmin plans to cooperate with mobile phone vendors and release own-branded GPS-communicators.
