Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11n with the new logo    [ 16-05-2007 17:25 ]

The final standard Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11n hasn’t been yet adopted, so the manufacturers have to work with 802.11n draft 2.0. The fact doesn’t prevent big players to provide equipment supporting the new standard. Last week Intel announced Santa Rosa platform featuring IEEE 802.11n support.

Today Wi-Fi Alliance announced its plans to certify products to be compatible with 802.11n draft 2.0 standard. The program is likely to start in July. Besides Wi-Fi Alliance unveiled a new logo, which will be applied to the new network devices after the certification is completed successfully.

To add, several devices have already passed through such a certification, including Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN network adapter of Intel Santa Rosa platform.
