Author: Irina Turina     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The Mobile World forecast suggests that global mobile use will break an unprecedented 3.25 billion mark by the end of this year, i.e. half the world’s population. Already in July the figure will reach 3 billion of users.

Experts say that more than 1000 new customers are signing up for mobile phones every minute. It took over 20 years to have a billion’s subscriber base, but only another 40 months to exceed the two billion’s mark, notes The Mobile World.

The source found out that penetration in Europe is currently 100%. 65% of all phones released this year will be sold in emerging markets.

iPhone lacking 11 functions    [ 28-06-2007 08:02 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Intomobile     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The release of Apple iPhone will take place tomorrow, June 29, but meanwhile some Internet sources report on the features the phone is missing. For example, you can come across eleven things not implemented in the iPhone. But Apple is likely to make periodic updates meaning most of these items could be fixed.

11 functions missing in the iPhone:

  • Cut/Copy/Paste option
  • Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
  • MP3 ringtones
  • Adobe Flash not supported in Safari browser
  • Video capture
  • MMS-messaging
  • No removable battery
  • No edit of Word and Excel files – you can only view them
  • Direct iTunes access
  • Instant messaging
  • Games

It’s not yet clear whether the mentioned things are really missing or just alleged: some of the points look at least very strange. Well, let’s wait for further details.
