Yesterday the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved a mobile phone Nokia E61i. The full name in the documentation is Nokia E61-2.
In accordance with Nokia the full documentation for the model will be available at the FCC site by the beginning of March 2007. However the fact of FCC approval proves that Nokia E-series lineup will soon be extended.

According to Pocketinfo.nl, HTC Athena communicator will be released by T-Mobile operator and called T-Mobile AMEO. I’d remind you that this is the very device with unusual form-factor and a 5” display, making an impression of a UMPC and PDA hybrid. The release is expected to take place soon, especially taking into account the images of the AMEO (probably, official).
In all, these specs confirm the earlier info with minor exceptions. For example, the device will be equipped with a 3-megapixel camera (not 2-megapixel).

Ron Garriques, the head of Motorola’s mobile unit, has introduced the document “2007, Mobile Devices: Our Strategy” at the presentation of financial reports. The presentation mentioned mobile phones models to appear in 2007, but nit yet officially announced. They are the MOTORIZR Z8 slider and MOTOKRZR K3 clamshell.
Taking into account the internal camera, both models support 3G networking. By the way, the MOTOKRZR K3 is probably the very phone, “live” photos of which we published yesterday.

O2 Asia operator has introduced two communicators – Xda Atom Life and Xda Flame. Both devices are expected to be released during a couple of months. Today we have some info confirmed by the operators and more detailed pictures of them.
Xda Flame is a powerful communicator in the traditional form-factor with a large 3.6” VGA LCD and NVidia graphical accelerator. Probably it will carry 2 GB onboard.
Xda Atom Life is a more common model, however it features 1 GB of built-in flash ROM. The communicator can work in 3G networks and supports HSDPA high-speed data transfer standard. It is equipped with a QVGA LCD, a 2-megapixel camera and an expansion slot for miniSD cards.
