Author: Serge Novikov     Translation by: Saliquincer    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Sharp has succeeded in developing a new LCD for mobile equipment such as mobile phones. The new LCD features the industry's highest contrast ratio of 2,000:1, a wide viewing angle of 176 degrees that is top class in the industry, and a high-speed response time of 8 ms.

This autumn, Sharp is scheduled to make a sample shipment of the new LCDs for One-Seg-compatible mobile phones. Sharp will then use the new LCDs to expand its lineup of mobile phones and to further develop the application of these new LCDs in digital cameras.

In the future, as the leading manufacturer of LCDs, Sharp will develop proprietary LCDs based on new technologies not only for large LCDs for TVs but also for small and medium-size applications and will contribute to further advances in mobile equipment.

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Deeda, an unknown mobile phone maker, has unveiled its Pi Phone. The company claims this is the next generation of portable consumer multimedia device, it have been working on this since 2005. Given the video clip on the company’s site, we have another clone of the iPhone with similar interface.

As far as the specs go, the device is equipped with a 3.6” 800x480 pixel touchscreen display, a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

I’d note that the info on iPhone clones appear every now and then before the official release, but the question is: will it be ever released or sued by Apple?

Follow the link to watch Deeda Pi Phone video.
