Nokia has introduced updates of Nokia N70, Nokia N73 and Nokia N91 smartphone – Nokia N70 Music Edition, Nokia N73 Music Edition and Nokia N91 8GB. This edition features black shell color, Nokia PC Suite software and a new application for easier synchronization with Windows Media Player and music control. In addition Nokia N91 8GB is equipped with a 8 GB HDD instead of 4 GB in the previous version.

Nokia N70 Music Edition and Nokia N73 Music Edition are expected to appear in shops in October and Nokia N91 8GB – by the end of the year. The recommended price makes up ˆ350, 450 and 550 respectively.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has recently unveiled the info on the latest Windows-powered 3G communicator Samsung SGH-i600 (Samsung already has a CDMA smartphone with the similar index – SCH-i600) with the QWERTY-keyboard.

The fact tells us that Samsung SGH-i600 will soon be available probably at an American operator. Mostly likely this will be Cinguler, as there were photos of the communicator with the logo in the Internet. Cingular is rumored to officially introduce a Samsung communicator with the index SGH-607.

Route 66, the company famous for its navigation software for mobile devices, has announced the series of slim portable car navigators Chicago. The series indicates the entrance to the market of portable car navigation systems. The series got the name of the city where the Route 66 starts. The series contains 4 models: ROUTE 66Chicago 6000, Chicago 7000, Chicago 8000 and Chicago 9000.

The navigators are equipped with 4.3” widescreen 480x272x65K color LCD. They work on 400 MHz CPU, 64 MB RAM and 64 MB flash ROM. The GPS-module is built on SiRF Star III chipset. There is a slot for SD and MMC cards. The navigators support MP3-player functionality. Measuring 132x91x24 mm they weigh 210 g. Chicago 7000 and 9000 navigators are equipped with built-in RDS-TMC receivers, i.e. they can trace road situation.

Chicago 6000 and 7000 are meant for regional use and thus come with regional maps of Europe. Chicago 8000 and 9000 are supplied with the maps of the whole Europe. The Chicago series will be commercially available early in November. The recommended price makes up ˆ299.95, ˆ349.95, ˆ399.95 and ˆ449.95 for Chicago 6000, 7000, 8000 and 9000 respectively.

At the Photokina 2006 show SanDisk and Pretec have simultaneously introduced CompactFlash cards capacious of 16 and 12 GB. Both cards belong to SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash series.

The cards feature the minimum read/write speed of 20 Mbps. They will be available in December at the recommended price of $779.99 fir the 12 GB card and $1049.99 for the 16 GB card.
