Seamless Wi-Fi has announced an interesting device S-XGen keyboard with the folding QWERTY-keyboard, positioned as the ultra mobile PC. The company hasn’t unveiled special details, except for the phone will be equipped with a 4” LCD and can work in cell and Wi-Fi networks and via Bluetooth interface.

According to some unofficial sources, S-XGen is powered by Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 running on XScale PXA 270 520 MHz, which is quite uncustomary for UMPC concept. S-XGen is likely to be a communicator packed in an unusual form-factor, and Seamless Wi-Fi might have made a promo move. The company is to introduce its product at CES 2007 in Las Vegas scheduled for January 8-11, 2007.

Minox has introduced its flash media player-recorder Minox DMP 4. In addition to 2 GB onboard the player has a slot for SD/MMC cards. Minox DMP 4 can write/record MPEG4 and WAV video, MP3 and WMA music and JPEG graphics.

The player is equipped with a 2.5” 262K color LCD, stereo speakers, a microphone, a TV-out and an AV-in. The device can capture video in VGA or QVGA resolution at 30 fps. You can run a slideshow. The player is fed by a Li-Ion 1000 mAh battery. Measuring 90x68x16 mm it weighs 69 g (without the battery).

Minox has introduced an expensive version of the DC 1011 camera – the DC 1011 Carat. It doesn’t involve more advanced technologies, but gold and diamonds. 10 diamonds (0.03 carats each) are round the lens, and 24 carat gold is applied in the shell. Other specs are similar to the original version.

The camera is equipped with a 10.1-megapixel CCD-sensor, a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 30 – 105 mm) and a 2.5” display. Video capture runs at VGA (640x480 pixels), 25 fps. I can hardly image anyone to really like this product, only to present it as a souvenir.
