Samsung SGH-i520: a Symbian HSDPA smartphone    [ 16-10-2006 10:10 ]

Samsung Electronics has announced its new smartphone SGH-i520, which will be introduced at Smartphone Show in London. The smartphone is powered by Symbian 9.2 on S60 3.1.

The SGH-i520 is a slider designed for UMTS networks. It can work in the high-speed data transfer standard HSDPA. It features a 2.3” LCD, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 (the support of stereo sound communication) and USB 2.0. At the same time the device is quite slim – 17.9 mm. The info on the Motorola Q smartphone lineup is of general and rumor-based nature. According to buywindowsmobile.com, t Gartner Symposium ITxpo Motorola confirmed the future release of Motorola Q Pro, a new Motorola smartphone on Windows Mobile Smartphone.

The device will be released in black color and get some hardware changes and MOTOPRO Mobility Suite. The PC software enables remote control of the device, applications and switch off the camera module. The smartphone software activates firewall, data encoding for e-mail, connection and authentication to VPN, attack detection. The release of the device is scheduled for 1Q 2007.
