Nokia AEON: another concept with the touchscreen control    [ 09-10-2006 11:36 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Nokia has posted the image of another mobile phone concept called Nokia AEON. Looking at the photos we guess that the model is peculiar for its front panel, which is almost sensor.

The interface of the concept is similar to another concept BenQ-Siemens Black Box, which displays control elements and menu depending on the current function. In any case the model looks very attractive.

In the Internet you can find a couple of screenshots of the next Windows Mobile OS version called Crossbow (one of the possible commercial names – Windows Mobile 5.0 Second Edition). On the picture we see icons in Windows Vista style.

Windows Mobile Crossbow is expected to be released in the second half of 2007. I’d remind you that the following Windows Mobile upgrade is dubbed Windows Mobile Photon (based on Windows CE 6.x) and expected in the second half of 2008.

HTC Census, early info    [ 09-10-2006 09:37 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a new communicator HTC Census. However it hasn’t posted either detailed info or photos of the device. HTC Census supports CDMA networking and data transfer standard CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO. The model might be a dual-mode one, it is said to support GSM.

HTC demanded that HTC followed confidentiality rules, i.e. prohibited to publish details on the product till March 31, 2007. So, we can assume HTC Census won’t be released earlier than this date, at least in the US.
