Toshiba introduces a notebook and a player on fuel cell    [ 06-10-2006 19:23 ]

The fuel cell theme is very popular among the developers. At almost every IT-exhibition you can see a couple of fuel cell samples. For example, at CEATEC Japan 2006 Toshiba has showed a fuel-cell powered notebook and a media player Gigabeat V30T with the TV-tuner.

However there are some cons and pros. As you can see on the photo the devices look bulky because of attached batteries. But I’d note these are still protos, not commercial samples.

Author: Klimov Oleg     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

It has been long time when cellphones were just means of communication. Now a cellphone is an organizer, an alarm clock, a digital camera, a mini PC and so on. With the growth of functionality there appear other services based on cellphones.

In Tampere, Finland, Nokia is testing a new project to use mobile phone technology in current pubic transport systems. The service makes it possible for the passenger to load value to his or her mobile phone - and the travel card on it - wirelessly from the network and also check the balance and history of the travel card.

The trial is held together with TeliaSonera and TietoEnator Nokia has delivered Nokia 3220 phones with an NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality needed in the trial.
