Treo 680 to become available by the holiday time    [ 22-11-2006 14:32 ]

Today Palm announced the release of its new communicator Treo 680. It was announced in October. Now you can make a preliminary order for an unblocked version at the Palm site, the price will be $399. The retail sales start on December 1, in the US. It will be available in four color solutions.

In addition the American operator Cingular Wireless announced the model. It will offer the Treo 680 for $199.9 after all discounts and on a 2-years service plan. Here you can read the review of the communicator.

The operator launches sales on November 24 – the “Black Friday” following the Thanksgiving Day. The date is traditionally the first day opening the Christmas sales. Black color here stands for the profit of the sellers.

The Chinese source IT168.com has posted distinct and clear spy photos of a would-be smartphone Nokia N93i. The info about it emerged in the Internet early in November. It is expected to be an update of Nokia N93 smartphone with changed design and some other minor distinctions.

Fujitsu has announced a new series of Tablet PC – the Stylistic 5100 consisting of two models 0 Stylistic ST5111 and Stylistic ST5112. According to the company these are the first Tablet PC on the market with Intel Core Duo inside.

The technical specs:

• CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor ULV U2500 (1.20 GHz, 2 MB L2, 533 MHz FSB)
• Operating system: Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 with Microsoft Office OneNote 2003

O2 Xda Flame – a VGA screen and more, details    [ 22-11-2006 11:15 ]

We’ve already mentioned O2 Xda Flame in our news. Now we have more details on this interesting device. Pocket PC Thoughts has posted a live photo of the communicator and a picture looking like a promo poster.

O2 Xda Flame is equipped with a 3.6” VGA (640x480 pixels) LCD like HTC Universal, but it is packed in a classical form. Its Intel XScale PXA270 processor is working at 520 MHz. There is NVIDIA GoForce 5500 graphical accelerator and 20 GB flash ROM onboard!

Besides the Xda Flame features 64 MB RAM, a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), TV-out and USB On-The-Go interface. There is no info on the battery life on a singles charge. O2 operator expects to release the Xda Flame in 1Q 2007.

As it was expected i-mate has eventually shared the details on its two new communicators – JAQ3 and PDAL. They have been recently announced, they belong to mid range. The JAQ3 is a candy bar with a QWERTY-keyboard and a landscape oriented LCD. The PDAL is packed in the classical communicator form with several control buttons.
