The line of slim RAZR-style clamshells is extended with another model: the US Federal Communications Commission has approved a low-end clone of Motorola KRZR, which differs little from the original more expensive model. Initially the phone was rumored to be called the W210, the info wasn’t confirmed.

Its design is similar to the W220 GSM phone, but it is designed for CDMA networks. Unfortunately we have no more technical details.

SPH-P9000: a mobile transformer with PC opportunities    [ 07-11-2006 11:33 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Samsung Electronics has announced a device called SPH-P9000 Deluxe MITs. Its futuristic design might be a sample of future 4G devices. the SPH-P9000 is a convergent device that can make voice calls and transfer data via Mobile WiMAX networks. There is the support of CDMA EV-DO cell networks.

Taking into account the dimensions, we have something between the PDA and the notebook-transformer. As for the opportunities and technical specs the SPH-P9000 is like the UMPC, but with compact size. It is powered by Windows XP. Its LCD features 5” diagonal and a WVGA resolution. The device comes with 256 MB RAM onboard, Transmeta processor, 30 GB HDD, 1.3-megapixel camera and folding QWERTY-keyboard. There is the support of Bluetooth interface and miniUSB port. Measuring 143x92x29.7 mm it weighs 560 g.

Those who find UMPC too big and do not prefer PDA for limited opportunities will like the device. The release won’t be soon – the first half of 2007 on the Korean market. The company hasn’t unveiled the price, the device doesn’t seem to be a budget model.

Nokia N93i: a new N-series smartphone, rumors    [ 07-11-2006 09:10 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: it168.com     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

In the Internet appeared photos of a would-be heir of Nokia N93 smartphone, which was announced at Nokia Open Studio in April. The smartphone can record video in DVD-quality. Under the preliminary info the model will be called Nokia N93i.

When we look closer, we see some distinctions in design. Control buttons on the right side got different. A crucial change concerns the standard miniUSB port instead of the traditional Nokia Pop-Port. Besides the infrared port and the slot for storage cards have new location. The front panel features mirror effect, so when the phone is idle, the external display isn’t noticeable.

As for the changes in technical specs, we can’t say anything for sure. Currently there are only rumors about the model.
