5 new Dopod models    [ 02-11-2006 11:00 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: CNETAsia     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Dopod, the company releasing brand devices based on HTC platforms in Asia, has introduced 5 models. These are the C800, D810, M700 and P800W communicators and the C720W smartphone. These are ordinary models based on the Artemis (P800W), Trinity (D810) and Excalibur (C720W) introduced as operator-branded devices and under HTC brand.

Dopod M700 and Dopod C800 are expected late in November. The first one resembles the P800W in many specs and the form, however they differ in the lack of GPS (the key feature of the Artemis), twice as much flash-memory onboard (256 MB) and a 512 MB microSD card in the kit. Besides the M700 supports OMA DRM and is positioned as a music-oriented communicator.

Dopod C800 is an implementation of HTC Herald platform, which is much rumored, but not yet officially announced. I’d remind you, this is a heir of the Wizard platform – 17 mm thick, a 2-megapixel camera and an expansion slot for microSD cards.
