High Tech Computer (HTC) reports increased sales of HTC self-designed devices. This took an effect on financial results of the company – its after tax profit reached $202 million in 3Q, a 154% (!) rise year on year.

Analysts estimate the situation will be the same in 4Q, for that period HTC plans to launch new models. Revenues are expected to grow at 20-30%, says the Commercial Times.

Today the South Korean company LG Electronics announced the start of sales of its new lightweight notebook of the XNote A1 series supporting high-speed data transfer technology HSDPA. Weighing just one kilo the new device is equipped with an integrated HSPDA modem, supports WLAN wireless networks, 3D graphical accelerator and 1 GB DDR2 RAM. The HSDPA networking will be provided by the local mobile operator KTF.

Apple has announced world sales of its new version of the iPod shuffle player on November 3. The second generation of the iPod shuffle was introduced on September 12. This is a really tiny and lightweight player, twice as smaller compared to the predecessor – 41x27 mm, 15 g.

In addition to compact size the player features a clips to attach the player to the clothes, for example. The new player comes with 1 GB of flash ROM onboard and a Li-Pol battery (up to 12 hours of playback). The company has conformed the recommended price - $79.
