Dopod to become a subsidiary of HTC

HTC (High Tech Computer), the leader in the sphere of Windows Mobile devices, has announced today the intention memorandum with Dopod. HTC is about to acquire above 50% of Dopod stock. In result Dopod will become a subsidiary of HTC.
Dopod was established in 2002. It releases mobile devices under Dopod brand, made on HTC platforms in Asia Pacific.
The alliance will make a synergy effect and allow increasing the level of services rendering to operators and final users. The terms of the deal will be defined in near future. The transaction cost is won’t exceed $150 million, so far.

Pocket Loox N100: a series of light navigators by Fujitsu Siemens, officially

The series of the Pocket Loox N100 navigators has been rumored a year long. Now Fujitsu Siemens has published official info about it – there appeared a page on the site, where you can download the specs.
The series contains two models – the N100 and N110. The devices are compact and lightweight (100 g). So the company positions them as the most lightweight navigation system on the market. Besides the navigators support music playback and also have games, world time, alarm clock, calendar and calculator. The release date isn’t unveiled yet, but it might happen soon.
