VoIP technology is a good solution to spare on international calls in cities with good level of wireless networks coverage. Following the development of info-communication technologies the Wi-Fi coverage in big cities will be wider, and thus the demand for such solutions will be growing.
Nokia follows the trend and has started tests of the technology for mobile phones to be used in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks to make calls, at the same time the switch process between networks will be automatic, so the user won’t notice it.
The test involves 50 families from Oulu in the north of Finland. The test will take about two months, the source says.
