Verizon releases Motorola Q in Black    [ 13-12-2006 15:59 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The American operator Verizon Wireless has released a black color version of Motorola Q smartphone. It has become a tradition for Motorola to release the same smartphone (launched in May), but in other color of the shell.

I’d remind you that Motorola Q is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0, equipped with a landscape oriented display (not a touchscreen) and a QWERTY-keyboard under it. At the same time it is slim – 11.5 mm.

Verizon is offering Motorola Q Black for $199.99 on a 2-years service plan, after all discounts.

Lady’s phone charger    [ 13-12-2006 13:01 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: Global Sources Direct     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Global Sources Direct, an online shop offering products from Chinese makers, has posted the info on an original device to charge Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson phones and MP3- and MP4-players. It looks like a compact mirror or a powder box to carry in a lady’s bag. However its dimensions are too big for it – 34x26x26 cm. Let’s hope this is a misprint and real size is in mm.

This ecologically safe charger contains a solar battery, AC/DC adapter, 12 V car adapter, a 550 mAh Li-Ion battery. Output is 5.4 VDC, 140 mA. There are LED indicators. There is no exact info whether the charger would be available in retail, at the site it’s possible to order the pack of 10 units for $18.5 each.

Ambiance Technology engaged in Windows Mobile phones    [ 13-12-2006 11:59 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: MSMobiles     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The European company Ambiance Technology is already releasing own-branded phones. Now it has introduced smartphones and Pocket PC of AT Mobile series powered by Windows Mobile 5.0. We can see traces of several models developed by different Taiwanese or Chinese makers, that’s not surprising, as the company isn’t involved in production or development.

There is little info about the models, besides they look somewhat suspicious – even the quality of images on company’s site leaves much to be desired. Neither of the phones supports 3G networking, which is strange for Europe. Well, let’s wait for more details.

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Pantech has introduced another mobile phone for the Korean market. The IM-U160 supports T-DMB mobile broadcasting service and comes with a big widescreen LCD.

The display features a 2.6” diagonal, WQVGA resolution, 15:9 side ratio. The device is peculiar for the touch keyboard. There is a 2-megapixel camera with auto focus, an MP3-player, 184 MB of memory onboard and an expansion slot for microSD cards. The recommended price makes up 600,000 Won, i.e. some $650.
