M*free: a compact computer-transformer    [ 11-12-2006 19:32 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: aving.net     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The Korean company MIU has introduced an interesting product M*free – a compact computer supporting wireless communication. It is called HDPC (Hybrid Dual Portable Computer) and combines functionality of a VoIP-phone, an UMPC, a navigator and a media player.

The device offers two operating systems for your choice (probably, Windows and Linux). You can turn the display to reveal either of two sides – with the small screen and the digital keyboard or with the large screen.

There is an opportunity to use a module, which adds extended functionality. The company hasn’t provided detailed specs, however we see a QWERTY-keyboard and a module for the digital camera, the player and the storage drive.
