IT80X – a CDMA phone by Cal-Comp

The US Federal Communications Commission has approved a mobile phone IT80X by the Taiwanese company Cal-Comp. The phone is made in the classical form-factor, its design resembles some models by top vendors.

Bluetooth stimulates DSP production

Today there are plenty of mobile phones with Bluetooth, most of them support A2DP profile. Analysts believe that the growing number of such handsets stimulates the production of DSP (digital signal processor), which is implied in most phones supporting A2DP.
One of the manufacturers, CSR has introduced its new model BlueCore5-Multimedia equipped with DSP to complete the following functions: echo-compensation, noise reduction and amplifying of low frequency. Besides the DSP is applied to convert audio stream for faster transfer of it via Bluetooth. Moreover the new product supports Bluetooth EDR increasing data transfer speeds to 3 Mbps.
Well, the manufacturers of digital signal processors yield on the popularity of this wireless data transfer protocol.

Toshiba Portégé M400 – a 3G Tablet PC

Toshiba has announced that its compact Tablet PC Portégé M400 now has a 3G module, so the users can enjoy wideband Internet access almost anywhere.
Intel Centrino Duo technology on Core Duo processor provides high productivity of the PC on the journey. The notebook comes with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 OS. Toshiba EasyGuard technology ensures reliability of mobile computer system, it contains Toshiba Shock Protection Design, a moist-protected keyboard and HDD protection system.
Extended security opportunities involve a fingerprints scanner, an anti-theft timer and Trusted Platform Module 1.2. The device features integrated Wireless LAN 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, V.92 modem, Gigabit Ethernet LAN and Toshiba ConfigFree software to provide regular LAN, WLAN and WWAN connection, Wireless Key Log-on function (automatically verifies the password via a Bluetooth phone).

There emerged some info on a new model by the Swedish-Japanese concern – Sony Ericsson K620, which is an update of the recently available 3G-candy bar phone K610. As we see it on the picture, its design doesn’t differ from the predecessor. However some technical specs got different – a 3.2-megapixel camera and 100 MB of internal memory. There is no more info so far.
