Maxian releases a slim media player with a large LCD    [ 29-08-2006 18:06 ]

Maxian has announced the release of its media player M800. The player is peculiar for its slimness (17 mm) and a large 4.3” WQVGA (480x272 pixels) LCD. Besides the M800 is equipped with a 30GB HDD, a TV-out, and supports TV-programs recording and playback of many video formats, including AVI, MPEG, MPG, ASF, WMV, DAT, VOB.

Maxian has introduced the M800 on the Korean market. The recommended price for this media player makes up 400 thousand Won, i.e. some $416. Maxian M800 is expected to come out soon in Europe, China and Hong Kong.

I’d remind you that HTC Artemis is a GPS-communicator designed for GSM networks. In addition to GPRS and EDGE it supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networks. The 7th international Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships took place in Savonlinna the previous weekend. The event takes place in August from 2000. In addition to the international championship there are national ones, including Russian. The sponsors of the championship treat it as a light sport good for all people of all ages, besides this is an original way to get rid of an old phone.

The new champion is Lassi Etelätalo, Finland with result 89 m. The new world champion in the Women’s category is Eija Laakso with new world record 50.83 meters. By the way, 89 m isn’t an absolute record – this year nobody could beat the previous record of Mikko Lampi – 94.97 m. This year Lampi took the second place with 87.17 m.

In addition to individual competitions there were team and freestyle mobile phone throwing. Almost all winning positions were taken by competitors from Finland. At the site of the Championship you can get all the results in all categories.
