Apacer AU822 player with a color LCD and short battery life    [ 03-08-2006 14:22 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by:    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Apacer Technology has released a strange player AU822. It resembles the iPod nano and Toshiba Gigabeat, at the same time it can work for 5 hours only (music playback!) offline. However many developers offer much longer battery life.

The player comes with 256 MB – 1GB of flash memory onboard, not that much. It supports MP3 and WMA music formats, AMV video and JPEG graphical formats. You can watch video and photos on a 1.5” CST 65K color LCD. There is also an FM-tuner and a microphone.

The player is fed by a Li-Pol 230 mAh battery. Measuring 90x40x8.7 mm it weighs 43.7 g. The company hasn’t stated the price in the press release, we hope the price will be more user friendly.

Recently there popped up some info on the upcoming HTC product – HTC Excalibur. Now there is a live, but slightly blurry photos of it.

According to Engadget, the Excalibur is rumored to support Wi-Fi and have screen resolution larger than QVGA (240x320 pixels), which is quite unusual for a smartphone.

I’d note that you can trace the brand style of T-Mobile operator, providing services in the US and Europe.
