Siemens Communications and UPC Broadband Inc., a subsidiary of Liberty Global Inc. leading in the sphere of wideband and entertainment services, have signed a framework agreement to ship, integrate and support VoIP (Voice over IP) equipment. This 3-years agreement implies introduction of Voice over Cable solution by Siemens in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The agreement is to strengthen leading positions of Siemens in provision of Voice over IP services to cable networks operators.

The Korean company CMTech has introduced a new MP3-player Woodi CA-C360. It has compact size and small weight – 54.4x39.6x11.6 mm and 34 g. There is the support of MP3, WMA, ASF, MTX and WAV formats.

The player is equipped with a big LCD – 1.8” diagonal, 128x160 pixels, up to 65K colors. So it’s possible do more except for listening to the music. However the main assignment of the CA-C360 is to play the music, the company hasn’t even specified the supported video and image formats.

Besides the player has an FM-tuner and recording opportunity of programs, sound or signal from line-in. There is USB 2.0 interface for PC connection. The player comes with the following flash memory size onboard: 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB.

The Korean maker Iljin Display has developed the technology, which helps decreasing projector size to build it in mobile phones, digital cameras and other compact devices.

With such projectors mobile phones will be able to produce images with the diagonal exceeding 10”, thus it will help solving the problem of small screens in portable devices. The company is currently in cooperation with a Taiwanese maker to develop the projectors. At the same time it aims at decreasing the drive two times from the present level to $500.

The Taiwanese company Dopod International has announced the release of an ultra slim smartphone Dopod S300. It’s a clamshell 15.8 mm thick. The smartphone is based on HTC Star Track. I’d remind you that the other implementation of the platform was shown at 3GSM Congress by I-mate – I-mate Smartflip.



It is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone Edition and supports Microsoft Push Mail. There are music control buttons on the front panel.



Despite of Windows-smartphone functionality it can rival with Motorola RAZR phones in thickness and some other features. Until April 26 it can be ordered only in the online shop PCHome.

Reigncom, the company releasing players under iRiver trademark, has announced a soon release of a new MP3-player iRiver E10 in Korea. It carries 6GB HDD onboard to store the info. The player is equipped with a 1.5” TFT LCD and supports MP3, WMA, ASF and OGG music formats.

It has an FM-tuner and a voice recorder, besides it can view pictures and run slide shows. It can be used as a TV remote control. There is USB 2.0 interface for PC connection. Measuring 96x45x14 mm it weighs 76 g. The device is powered by a Li-Pol battery. The sales are expected to start on April 28.
