There has been quite the fuss over RIM nd its PlayBook tablet today with a rumour having been doing the rounds that production of the device had stopped and that RIM was in fact considering abandoning the tablet market entirely. The chatter was apparently too much for RIM who felt compelled to issue a statement to BGR:
RIM doesn't typically comment on rumours, but any suggestion that the BlackBerry PlayBook is being discontinued is pure fiction. RIM remains highly committed to the tablet market.
The initial rumour apparently started because of reports from analyst John Vinh, who stated that RIM's manufacturing partner Quanta had been told to halt PlayBook production. Now whether this rumour is true or not the fact that there is even a rumour at all bodes ill for RIM. You don't see such rumours creeping up around Apple or Samsung or HTC, etc. No, you see these sort of rumours starting to swirl around companies like RIM that are increasingly looking like the 'sick man' of the industry.

Do you enjoy watching hands-on videos of new handsets voiced over by someone speaking very quickly in a language you don't understand? Yes?! Then do I have a treat for you! Below you will find a video of the Huawei Honor being turned and twisted and shown off from just about every angle. For those not familiar with the handset it's running with a single core 1.4 Ghz chip, 4-inch touchscreen, 8 MP camera and $400 price.

Finally an iPhone 5 rumour that isn't about its launch date! MacWorld Asia got a little surprise when Huan Wenlian, Deputy Director at China Unicom, gave a presentation recently. He is supposed to have shown off the following slide:
See where that red arrow is pointing? Yes, it does indeed say HSPA+ and lists a data transfer rate of 21 Mbps. If that proves correct, and there's no real reason why it shouldn't, it would be a threefold increase over the iPhone 4.
