Google have updated their figures for Android to show which version of the popular mobile platform is most ... well ... popular. It should really come as no surprise to discover that Froyo is still very much in the lead when it comes to Android. Version 2.2 takes an astonishing 64.6% share, almost a full two thirds of total Android devices.
The more recent Gingerbread release now accounts for some 9% and whilst that does seem rather low remember that just last month Gingerbread was standing at a measly 4%. In other words it has more than doubled its share.
Eclair is still standing tall with 21.2%, but both Android 1.5 and 1.6 are next to non-existent now according to Google, accounting for just 1.9% and 2.5% respectively.

The Xperia Play certainly grabbed a few headlines when it was (finally) announced and to be fair most reactions were positive. One area that did come in for criticism though was the relatively low number of gaming titles available for the device. Sony Ericsson looks set to start addressing that concern though with the announcment that a plethora of new games specifically tailored for the Xperia Play will soon be making an appearance.
The nitty gritty remains unclear though, both in terms of pricing and release dates. However, those sort of details are expected to be fleshed out at E3 next week. You can find the full list of the new titles below:
