In what is perhaps a sign of arrival for Windows Phone 7 Microsoft have taken steps to remove their first app from the Marketplace. The 'honour' befalls an app called Imagewind. Imagewind pulled random images from Twitter and put them up on the users screen. Now that doesn't sound like something requiring removal, but consider that the app had no filter to check what sort of images were displayed. Hence Microsoft is looking to pull the plug.
The app has been available since early March so either Microsoft completely missed it or they have adopted Apple's seemingly random approach to action on apps. Imagewind has been given a 'grace' period according to Engadget who received word from one of the devs behind the app. What that means is that the app is still available for download, presumably with the expectation that some sort of filter is installed, but if not then it would seem it is not long for the Marketplace ...

The original iPad seems to be getting near the bottom of the stock pile in America with many a source running out. Apple themselves have apparently already sold out of the 16 GB WiFi model online. Even refurbished units are apparently nearing their end at Apple. It's not just Apple though, AT&T have now sold out of the 16 GB and 32 GB 3G + WiFi models, with some stock of the 64 GB version remaining.
The original iPad saw a tumble in price when the iPad 2 was released as retailers tried to shift old stock and it looks to be working beautifully. Some of the original iPad models have been discounted heavily, as much as $300 in some cases so it's no real surprise that stock is running low.

British mobile network 3 have announced that they will be rolling out the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update for their branded Desires sometime around the end of April or start of May. The announcement was made via Twitter, as ever these days, and whilst it is obviously welcome news to Desire owners on 3's network it does also hint at a wider release.
Networks tend to release updates for their branded handsets after the update has already been made available for generic unlocked devices. If that holds true here then it means a wider, more general, Desire Gingerbread update for UK users could be on the cards for sometime this month. We'll be watching for HTC making some sort of announcement on that front ...
