Microsoft Stopping Employees Using Company Money To Buy Apple Products    [ 21-03-2012 15:58 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: ZDNet     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The Microsoft Sales, Marketing, Services, IT & Operations Group (SMSG) looks to be setting about enforcing a policy of preventing employees from using Microsoft funds to purchase products made by Apple according to ZDNet. In an email from Alain Crozier, the chief financial officer of SMSG, empoylees are informed of the policy:

Within SMSG we are putting in place a new policy that says that Apple products (Mac and iPad) should not be purchased with company funds.

Microsoft have predictably declined to give out comments on the matter, but Microsoft have previously moved to block employees from using iPhones and BlackBerrys. Instead Microsoft handed out a free Windows Phone handset.

Leaked Picture Of The Galaxy S III?    [ 21-03-2012 13:53 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: GSM Helpdesk     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Whilst the launch date remains uncertain the GSM Helpdesk has posted what it claims to be an official press photo of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III. Of course the source of the picture remains unnamed. To go along with the picture we have an assortment of specification claims from the GSM Helpdesk. These include a full HD Super AMOLED display; Android 4.0 (with Samsung's very own TouchWiz UI of course) and a quad-core 1.5 GHz chip to run the show.

Samsung Exec: Galaxy S III Launching April    [ 21-03-2012 13:10 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: MK     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III is so far being touted as launching come May. Indeed the date has even been narrowed down to 22nd May if a render on a possible render image is to be believed. However, South Korean news site MK is now reporting that Samsung may be considering pushing the launch forward to 23rd April. That change in date is according to Kim Young-ha, Samsung's president for the China region, who told the Samsung Forum 2012 "In order to increase sales of the Galaxy S3 as well as the Galaxy Note which is already very popular in China, the company is considering rescheduling the rollout of the Galaxy S3 from May to April". Of course the fact that HTC are set to launch their One series of handsets in April probably doesn't help the May timeframe either with Samsung hoping to not let its rivals steal a march on it.
