April should see the debut of Samsung's much anticipated follow up to their mega successful Galaxy S II, the originally named Galaxy S III. That's the word according to ZDNet Korea, which says it has been speaking to Cheil Worldwide, the marketing agency Samsung employs. The United Kingdom will reportedly come in for a particularly large advertising campaign to coincide with the Summer Olympic Games being held in London this year. The April launch date ties in nicely with previous chatter centering on the handset. The Galaxy S II will supposedly feature an 8 MP camera, 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor, cermaic casing and 4G LTE support.

The New York Post is reporting that Apple is planning a subscription based TV service by Christmas this year. The service would see Apple effectively treat television channels like apps so that customers could purchase individual channel subscriptions or subscriptions to groups of channels. Apple is said to be in the midst of negotiations with media executives over using their content, but the Post's sources are saying that those negotiations are not faring well.
One source described the situation as Apple saying "... we decide the price, we decide the content ...". Another source described the situation as "They [Apple] want everything for nothing". If that is indeed the case it's not too hard to see why the negotiations are not going so well. Nevertheless Apple will launch their service by Christmas in one form or another whether the media companies are onboard or not according to the Post's report. The service should be available through Apple TV as well as through Apple rumoured television set, said to be launching sometime this year.
