With predictions that it could seel as many as 100 million smartphones a year by 2015 ZTE is looking at releasing two new smartphone-tablet hybrids this year. The company has been on the up recently, selling 15 million smartphones last year and looking to expand that to 50 million this year. Executive director of ZTE He Shiyou stated that 2012 would see ZTE attempt to increase the margins on their smartphones, however, they are also looking to expand into Samsung territory with more tablet like devices. "We want to come up with the enxt generation of a Galaxy Note-type product - a combo product of handsets and tablets" said Lv Qianho. head of handset strategy at ZTE. This would also signal a move towards the higher end of the market, unfamiliar territory for ZTE it has to be said. ZTE have pretty much solely focused on the low-end, but a move towards high-end customers would bring the company some new challenges, not the least of which would be that many people simply don't know who ZTE is: "People who buy Apple and Samsung have greater brand awareness so they might not take chances with a little-known brand, especially one from China" expalined one Chinese business analyst, Teck-Zhung Wong.

Note the sheep at the end, or should that be iSheep? Samsung has a habit recently of using iPhone fanboys and their dedication to Apple to sell its own products. Anyway the video is yet another teaser for Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S III, which is expected to be unveiled on 3rd May perhaps alongside a new Galaxy Tab tablet.
