Google's Marissa Mayer, vice president of location services, has been ponying up some factoids about Google Maps and its usage statistics.
First off Google Maps is being used by approximately 150 million people, a pretty big number, which is more than double the population of the UK. Those 150 million users are using Google Maps to plot out journeys amounting to some 12 billion miles a year, which is more than the distance of the Voyager 1 spacecraft from the Sun.
Interestingly Google Maps' latest update with its traffic management features is saving people, Google claims, an average of 2 days worth of travel a year. Pretty sweet.
There was also some mention made of Google Maps on the iPhone with Mayer saying "We like being the default provider, but we'd like to get some of these updates out to a broader audience. That's still a debate/question we're considering".
What does that mean? Perhaps a version of Google Maps for the iPhone that can act as a satnav just like on Android? Well who knows, but it would be nice to at least have the option.

When you write about mobile technology you occasionally come across some bizarre stuff and to be frank an interview with Mike Tyson discussing an iPhone game very much fits that category.
The game, Mike Tyson's Main Event, is basically an updated version of the old NES title Mike Tyson's Punch Out, only this time it's launching on the iPhone. The game is being developed by RockLive and Tyson himself was involved in helping to make the game's characters feel natural.
IntoMobile managed to grab some screen time with Tyson to talk about the game. Unfortunately Tyson's famously soft voice is overshadowed by the background noise at points, but it's still worth a watch.

HTC is yet to enter the tablet game, but it will soon with its first device the HTC Flyer. It's an Android 2.4 tablet with a 7 inchs creen, 1.5 GHz chip, 32 GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and a 5 MP camera.
Taiwan Economic News is reporting that HTC placed an order for a million of these things to be made for the first run. HTC clearly has high hopes for its debut tablet and that's in addition to the two other rumoured tablet devices HTC is expected to announce/launch this year.
Initial speculation has the Flyer priced somewhere in the $600 range, which is roughly equivalent to what we're seeing from other manufacturers although crucially $100 cheaper than the iPad 2 3G model.

Apple haven't been forthcoming with sales figures for the iPad 2 yet, but they have given us the next best thing, a pretty obvious statement.
Apple spokesperson Trudy Miller claims "Demand for the enxt generation iPad 2 has been amazing. We are working hard to get iPad 2 into the hands of every customer that wants one as quickly as possible".
Pretty much everyone who has been stocking the iPad 2 has already sold out including the likes of AT&T, Best Buy, Walmart etc. So even in the absence of actual figures we can see what we expected to happen, the iPad 2 is a hit.
