DigiTimes, that stalwart of Taiwanese tech rumours, is reporting that Amazon is soon to place initial orders for components for its forthcoming Android tablet. Citing unnamed sources DigiTimes is saying that the initial order for Amazon will likely see somewhere between 1.5 million and 2 million units ordered with the first units ready by Sepetmber.
Three Taiwanese touchscreen manufacturers are said to be competing for the contract; Wintek, HannStar Display and J Touch. Even with three companies battling for the contract Amazon is apparently facing supply problems for its tablet as Apple's iPad is expected to gobble up the bulk of tablet production in the latter half of this year.

Well it's confirming what we already knew really, but Nokia have released a list of countries that will see the N9 go on sale. What's more interesting here though are the countries that aren't getting the N9 (officially). The list of countries that will receive the N9 are as follows:
Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia,Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE and Vietnam.
Notable by their absence in that list are some of the major European markets such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany. However, Nokia's first Windows Phone handset is expected to launch across Western Europe first, presumably in those markets left out of the N9 launch. That still doesn't answer the question of why Nokia is seemingly ignoring some of Europe's biggest markets. Perhaps they're afraid of the competition?

In all the general Nokia/Symbian excitement this week the first of the lot is arguably the most overlooked. I'm speaking about the Nokia N950 of course, the developer only device that you will probably never get to play with. Well here's the enxt best thing, a rather involved video tour of the handset.
The video goes through the handset with a fine tooth comb, taking in features like the browser, dialer, camera and maps. For anyone with even a passing interest in this device, or Symbian in general, then it really is a must watch.
NOTE: The video commentary is in Thai so unless you speak Thai you will have to content yourself with just watching.
