Apple adverts are usually a good source for a chuckle, but usually at the advert rather than with it. The cheesey, over the top fawning nature of them either rubs people up the wrong way or produces mirth. It's nice then to be able to chuckle along with an Apple advert for a change as this Xmas themed advert for the iPhone 4S and Siri makes me enither want to puke or laugh hysterically. 'Charming' is what I think they were aiming for here.

Nokia have finally admitted what many a Nokia Lumia 800 user already knows; there is a problem with the handset's battery. Specifically the problem affects some variants of the handset according to Nokia and causes the handset to be unable to access the full potential of the 1,000 mAh battery. Nokia recommends users dial ##634# and check out the battery status tab. If that's showing a battery capacity of less than 1,000 mAh then there's a problem.
Nokia does have a fix in the pipeline thankfully, but it won't arrive until early next year. It's being bundled with the planned Lumia 800 update that was due to take place, and which will bring various performance enhancements. Now if you can't wait until the New Year for your battery issue to be fixed Nokia have another solution for you: they will replace your handset. That's a pretty decent offer I have to admit and should help to minimise any PR flack they might receive over this issue.

Samsung will be going on something of an upgrade frenzy over the next few months as they announced today that the Galaxy S II will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich early in the New Year. The Galaxy Note will also be tasting the sweet delights of Android 4.0 and Samsung have plenty of other devices due for upgrades too. These include the Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7.7, and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. The exact details of the update process are yet to be published, but Samsung promises such information once it has worked out the nitty gritty with the various networks involved.
