Google Instant Comes To Android & iPhone    [ 05-11-2010 19:11 ]

Google Instant, the real time search suggestion service, has become a bit of a favourite amongst Google's desktop users and it's been known for a while now that it would be making the transition to the smalls creen, but until now it hadn't been available for too many mobile users. The open beta has now been released on the Android Market for those running Froyo (Android 2.2 or above) and for the iPhone (iOS4).

There's a video of it in action below, but none of this answers the question of how useful this actually is on a mobile device. Smartphones with a large screen are better able to make use of it, but for devices with smaller screens it will be a case of scrolling up and down to see the suggestions. At any rate here's the video:
