Video: Inventor of the Mobile Phone Talks About His Own    [ 12-03-2010 18:12 ]

Not strictly news, but interesting nonetheless is this video of the inventor of the mobile phone, Marty Cooper, talking about his mobile usage. He was using an iPhone, but passed it on to his grandson in favour of a Moto Droid. Not too surprising I suppose since he did use to work for Motorola. Take a look at the video, it's pretty long, more than half an hour, but well worth a look.

iPhone OS 4 To Bring Multitasking At Last?    [ 12-03-2010 17:54 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Pocket-lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The scuttlebut on the web is that the release of iPhone OS 4.0 will (finally) herald multi-tasking on the iPhone. The reports come from Appleinsider who claim that multi-tasking will be coming to the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. The quote from Appleinsider reads:

"People with a proven track record in predicting Apple's technological advances tell AppleInsider that the Cupertino-based company has developed a "full-on solution" to multitasking on the iPhone OS but offered no specifics on how the technology would optimize resource conservation and battery life -- two of the most critical issues surrounding the matter, alongside security."

If this proves true it would eliminate one of the biggest criticisms levelled against the iPhone, it's lack of multi-tasking, which many of its competitors feature.

Also in Apple news today is a purported spy shot of the 4th generation iPhone. The pictures are of dubious quality and quite frankly aren't terrible impressive. Take with a pinch of salt.
