Although Windows 6.5 has done a fair bit to improve the image (and usability of WinMo handsets) it's WinMo 7 that everyone is waiting for. But when? Well the rumours now seem to be pointing squarely at late 2010. DigiTimes is citing sources close to Microsoft as aying that WinMo 7 will be released to handset manufacturers around September. If that proves correct then handsets actually running the OS should hopefully start appearing soon afterwards, say around Q4 2010 or perhaps slipping into Q1 2011. Initially Windows Mobile 7 will only support english and some other common European languages and will include support for Xbox Live, Zune and Silverlight. For many WinMo 7 is being seen as Microsoft's last chance to save their mobile presenc ein the face of stiff competition from the likes of Android and the iPhone.
