Apparently, the first mobile phones that will run on the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS - which is likely to be announced by Microsoft at the Mobile World Congress, next month are to arrive sometime between July and September of this year. Though, it's said that some manufacturers will ship their devices running the OS, in the fourth quarter - so that could be any time between October and December.

Although people won't have to wait long to see the new OS in the flesh, here are two alleged images of the OS, which leaked late last year.

Mobile Phone manufacturers to cut handset prices    [ 21-01-2009 23:02 ]

Author: Klimov Oleg   Source: Reuters     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Due to poor sales of devices, in the current economic climate, mobile phone manufacturers have begun to cut prices of their devices, in an attempt to renew customer interest. Sales of mobile phones took a decline over the Christmas peroid - with both Motorola and Sony Ericsson revealing unsatisfactory sales of devices. To get rid of old stock, and of devices that just are not generally selling wel, price cuts will have to be made by all manufacturers. Which includes the current market leader, Nokia, who began reducing prices last week - the biggest deduction, in the company's mid and high end segment being 10%. Various Walkman handsets by Sony Ericsson, such as the W890 and W902 have also been price deductions of 10% or greater.
