Samsung, in collaboration with Armai, have released two Armani-branded mobile phones together thus far, neither of which has been in extreme demand. Despite this, the two companies are apparently teaming up for a third time, and, this time around, the handset is said to be running on a smartphone OS, in this instance, said to be Windows Mobile 6.5. This is according to mobile marketing department director, of Samsung Taiwan Ryu Jae-hyun, of which he revealed during an interview with the Taipei Times. All that is currently about this co-branded handset, is that it should become available sometime in the fall season.

Nokia seeks for 1,000 employees to voluntarily resign from the company    [ 24-02-2009 19:22 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Reuters     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The current weak economy is affecting all kinds of companies and industries - with the mobile phone industry included. Even the biggest of companies have to cut costs as much as possible, with Nokia being no exception. One way of doing this is to get rid of employees that are no longer required. Well, Nokia isn't getting rid of employees per se, they are instead asking 1,000 of their staff to leave the company. Nokia wants the 1,000 staff members to sign on for a voluntary resignation package - those that do wish to leave the company can apply for said package, can do so, between the months of March 1, and May 31, said Nokia. Not only that, but the company is also hopeful for those employees that do not wish to leave the company for good, will take unpaid leave, for a short time, and extended breaks from the company.
