Vodafone UK Announces iPhone Date & Prices    [ 21-12-2009 17:54 ]

It's been common knowledge for months, but today Vodafone made it official and announced the date it is due to start selling the iPhone in the UK. That would be 14th January by the way. Details of Vodafone's iPhone pricing were also released and will no doubt come as something of a disappointment to those hoping for an iPhone price war in the UK. A 32 GB 3G S will cost an eye watering £239 on a £30/month 24 month contract, for example. Tethering is priced at £5 per 500 MB of data used. After the furore over Oange's 'unlimited' data allowance Vodafone users will also be subject to a fair usage policy, this time 1 GB/month. Of interest here though is that Vodafone say tey have been getting their network up to scratch for the iPhone for the past year! That doesn't seem to sync with how they have previously touted their acquisition of the coveted device e.g. a device that will be offered to upgrading customers first and not a customer acquisition tool.
