PCMag have assembled a list of twenty two tips for squeezing more out of your iPhone's camera. The first 9 tips are made up of relatively straight forward advice and most is basically just good common sense e.g. hold the camera steady, make sure the lens is clear, etc.
The second part of the list is arguably more interesting in that it lists several different camera apps that you may find useful, ranging from apps that aim to improve the abilities of the camera itself to apps that seek to work their magic on the picture once it has been taken.
You can take a look at the full list here.

Vodafone UK are taking pre-orders for the HTC Magic, the world's second Android powered handset. The blurb on the Vodafone order page says that pre-orders should be delivered by 5th May.
The handset is available for free if you sign up to at least a £30/per month 18 month contract, the £30/month presumably including an online discount Vodafone list alongside reasons to buy the handset.
Perhaps a little worryingly the section listing what comes with the handset in the box is rather sparse and doesn't list such things as headphones, etc, but this is probably more an oversight than a serious omission.

Apple have filed a patent for a 'movement-aware' handset. Gyroscopes immediately spring to mind, informing the handset of gesture controls such as flicks, etc, however, the patent also makes mention of proximity and light sensors, which adds a whole new level of complexity to the idea.
Interestingly the patent makes reference to possible issues when using such a device when the user is in motion himself. One possible solution is for the handset's UI to alter is the handset detects that the user is jogging. For exmple, icons may become larger to enable easier presses whilst in motion.
Another tidbit worthy of mention is that the patent shows an iPhone with a forward facing camera, presumably for video conferencing a la iChat?

In an an interview with the Wall Street Journal Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg has affirmed that he believes his company is on good ground domestically in the U.S. and is looking beyond America's borders to expand its business. However, Mr Seidenberg made it clear that Verizon would be looking at enterprise level expansion and not consumer-retail projects.
Of particular interest were his comments about the ownership of Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Verizon Communications and Vodafone. Seidenberg would of course like to see Verizon Communications with 100% ownership, but a buyout of Vodafone's 45% stake is unlikely according the Verizon Wireless CEO.
Also of interest were his comments concenring Apple. Mr Seidenberg believes that Verizon and Apple may be able to work together in the future with a LTE iPhone. A CDMA iPhone was never a possibility, according to Seidenberg, given the relatively small CDMA footprint.

The global economic crisis appears to be continuing to hit Sony Ericsson hard as Sony Ericsson looks to shed a further 2,000 jobs. Sony Ericsson is expecting to spend around 200 million euros on redundancies. This all come son top of the 2,000 jobs previously shed by the company. Sony Ericsson has had a difficult time of late with a 35% fall in handset sales during the first quarter of the year. Q1 2008 saw sales of 2.7 billion euros, whereas the first quarter of 2009 saw a large decline with 1.74 billion euros worth of sales. This translates as a net loss of 293 million euros, a far cry from the 133 million euro profit they made in Q1 2008. Market share has also slipped, down two points to 6%. It's not all bad news though, the initial 2,000 redundancies Sony Ericsson made cost the company 187 million euros, which was well under the projected 300 million euro cost.
