Rich Miner, group manager for mobile platforms at Google, expects that Android-powered devices will outsell iPhone. Despite the success of the iPhone, which sold 4 million units in its first seven months of release, Android devices will perform better numbers, believes Miner. Besides Android-based devices will be released by Motorola, Samsung, HTC and LG, while the iPhone has one manufacturer.

The Google platform is getting more popularity due to a complete open source for mobile devices, not just an operating system, Android The Android SKD has been downloaded 750 000 times, while the devices don’t even exist yet. They will pop up in the second half of 2008, with an HTC product coming first.
