One of HTC's Diamond key selling points is its TouchFLO 3D interface, which brings a new way to scroll through contacts, browse the Internet, and the like. However, unfortunately, performance has been generally sluggish. HTC looks to remedy this, by releasing a newer version of the interface on new Touches. The newer version of the interface looks to bring an significant speed-boost to the table. There is no word if current owners will be able to upgrade to the new version as of yet.

Today, US-based newspaper, the Wall Street Journal, stated that Google's Android Operating System, which will compete with Windows Mobile, and the iPhone OS, has been “delayed”to the fourth quarter of this year. However, most people will know that this is actually the correct release date for the long-awaited OS, so, as it stands, it's still on track for a release in the fourth quarter. The first handset to utilize the Android OS looks to be HTC's Dream, if all goes to plan.

Solar-powered Windows Mobile phone concept    [ 23-06-2008 20:06 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: intomobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

A concept, created by Eddie Goh, named the Eclipse Intuit has been unveiled. It's a Windows Mobile-powered handset, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. As its solar-powered, it gets it energy from the Sun, but, not only that, parts of the devices body are coated in a chemical-based skin of sorts, which helps replenish battery life.

This device isn't just a one-trick pony however, there's a five megapixel camera for cameraphone enthusiasts out there. Not only is there a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but a virtual one, on the handset's second screen, with tactile feedback support.
