Nokia's Comes With Music service to come with the N96?    [ 03-12-2008 18:39 ]

In the UK, Nokia's Comes With Music service, which allows users to download as many tracks, as they like, for free, to keep for up to a year, may soon be supporting the N96, in the UK. Currently, the service supports the 5310, and N95 8GB, on both a Pay As You Go, and contract price plans. It's said that the service will add support for Nokia's N96, before the Christmas period -so, that'll be in the next few weeks. As of yet, it's not know if the N96 will be available with the service, on Pay As You Go, or just on a contract plan.

Nokia to focus on Linux, not Android    [ 03-12-2008 18:29 ]

Author: Klimov Oleg   Source: unwiredview     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

It's been revealed that Nokia is not just putting Linux on its Internet Tablets, like the N800 and N810. It will also be used on as as of yet unannounced Nokia mobile phone, with more to follow. Vice President at Nokia’s markets unit, Ukko Lappalainen, said "In the longer perspective, Linux will become a serious alternative for our high-end phones". It's nice to see Nokia giving their users more choice, and, what with their Symbian Foundation OS to be implemented in handsets, as early as 2010, users will have plenty of choice. It seems one OS Nokia doesn't have much interest in, is Google's Linux-based Android OS. It seems Nokia want to focus on their Maemo Linux OS, with Lappalainen adding "I don’t see anything in Android which would make it better than Linux maemo".
