The new generation game console by Nokia N-Gage is likely to be supported by S60 3rd Edition smartphones. The company announced the new N-Gage last year and scheduled the release for the mid of this year.

A web source has shared the video clip demonstrating capabilities of the new platform. It is surprisingly of good quality and displays some games, including race, soccer, arcade, fight and so on. This clip suggest that 3D graphics is well implemented in the new N-Gage.

Being satisfied with sales of LG Shine designer’s handset with metal shell LG Electronics decided to differentiate color solutions of its popular model and introduced today LG Shine with darker shell color called “Titanium Black”.

The technical specs of the new LG Shine “Titanium Black” are the same as the original: a 2-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach, a scrolling wheel, a music player, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth support.

LG launches LG Shine ‘Titanium Black” in the UK, France, Holland and Austria.

Sony Ericsson’s 2Q financial results    [ 12-07-2007 12:53 ]

Sony Ericsson reported financial results of 2Q 2007 ended June 30. Products shipped reached 24.9 million, a 59% rise compared to the same period last year. Income before tax in 2Q made up €327 million, a year on year rise of 55%.

According to the company, Walkman phone sales reached 9 million units, keeping the leadership in music phones. At the same time Sony Ericsson continued to capture market share in Latin America, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa due to sales of low and mid-range handsets. In the 2Q the company increased its market share on the mobile phone market by more than 9%.

Motorola’s 2Q financial results: shortfall in earnings    [ 12-07-2007 09:56 ]

Motorola has announced preliminary estimates of 2Q 2007 financial results. The company expects 2Q sales to be in the range from $8.6 bln to $8.7 bln. Earlier Motorola expected that 2Q sales would be the same as in 1Q 2007 – about $9.4 billion.

Motorola notes that falling earnings are due to decrease of overall sales of mobile phones in Asia and Europe. The company expects 2Q mobile device shipments to be approximately 35-36 million handsets. As for the results for home and enterprise solutions, they still meet company’s expectations.

Motorola plans to announce its financial results for 2Q 2007 on July 19.
