New photo frame by Parrot

Parrot has unveiled its new digital photo frame PHOTO VIEWER 7” in addition to a 3.5” frame introduced a year ago. The new model features a big 7” display with higher resolution. There is much memory onboard, now it can store up to 500 images instead of 100. The photo frame supports Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR interface. The frame can automatically adjust brightness. There is the support of both landscape and portrait display modes. The frame is decorated with natural materials – leather or wood. The European release is set for February. The recommended price makes up €199 in Europe and $249 in the US (in the second quarter). The specs of Parrot PHOTO VIEWER 7”: - 7” TFT display 720x480 pixels, 262K colors

Samsung: record mobile phone sales in 4Q

Samsung Electronics has reported its 4Q financial results. Revenue grew by 3% to 15.69 trillion Won against the previous quarter. Net income for the quarter was 2.35 trillion Won, a 7% increase over the previous quarter. Samsung sold 32 million mobile phones, a record high on the quarterly basis. The performance resulted from the popularity of the Ultra Edition series. Thus annual unit sales reached 118 million, surpassing the target figures. In 2007 Samsung will strengthen its high-end line-up with 30 WCDMA phones and specialty phones that focus on music, video and messaging functions.

ASUS second generation of car notebooks

ASUSTeK Computer has announced a new generation of ASUS-Lamborghini notebooks. The VX2 series follows ASUS-Lamborghini VX1 released in 2006. The VX2 is based on Intel Centrino Duo platform and Windows Vista operating system. Design of both series is similar, the company applied the same design elements relative to Lamborghini cars. The shell is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy with carbon fiber. The metallic keyboard and the leather layer for palms should make the impression of the car inside. There are speakers at sides of the keyboard. The company hasn’t provided more details on the new series, they are expected closer to the announcement.

Nokia E65 smartphone approved by the FCC

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved an upcoming smartphone by Nokia – the E65. The FCC provided very little info for sake of confidentiality. However the fact proves that the product exists and will be released soon. According to the rumors, Nokia E65 will expand the E-series of business smartphones. The model is said to have an unusual form for the series – the slider with the camera.

LG KE770: a GSM version of the Shine phone

One of the phones by LG Electronics awarded IF Design prize was a GSM model of LG KE770 phone. It isn’t yet officially announced. The shell is made of metal and the phone is made as the classical candy bar. 
Earlier the company has announced another metallic phone, but in the slider form for the Korean market, it was called the Shine. Taking into account that LG likes to give names to the series of products (for example, the Chocolate), the new model seems to be promoted under the same name – “Shine”. LG KE770 has blue backlight and its display can be used as the mirror. The phone is said to support Microsoft Office and PDF files.
